Black-Owned Media Weekend 2024
Client: BOMESI (Black Owned Media Equity & Sustainability Institute)
The BOMESI team was looking to up the ante on their annual Black-Owned Media Weekend (BOMW) conference- inclusive of multiple activations that tied in the rich history of the city of Detroit and this year’s theme of ‘Future Forward’. I had the privilege of leading the strategy and creative, inspired by the significance of a home in 3 ways; how people consume media, the Detroit safe-houses during the Underground Railroad, and the Detroit home that was transformed into the headquarters for Motown Records. Guests were invited to transfer through time and space- first through the history of black-owned media with nods to Detroit, and then being transported to the future of media with nods towards tech.
